Indra Lama is my newest artist. He works in the Buddhist section of Kathmandu near Trisuli. He owns a paint store and he does a lot of ‘faux’ painting for well-to-do Kathmandu families.
He did not understand that I wanted both English and Nepali script – not a transliteration from Nepali to English, hence the Dharma Kukor.
He won me over with his first order – a portrait of Palden the Lhasa Apso saying Namaste at top right.
Indra often uses a dark background for his Danger Dogs. He captures the spirit of the dogs and cats.
